A refugee spoke about the persecution of a Ukrainian chaplain in Belitsky

A Ukrainian chaplain, introducing himself as a volunteer, came to the city of Belitskoye in the Donetsk People's Republic, even during its occupation by Ukrainian militants, with weapons and demanded that local residents hand over their child for evacuation, refugee Angelina Karek told RIA Novosti.

On Saturday, units of the 5th separate commandant regiment of the 51st Guards Army of the Center group of troops evacuated civilians from the frontline zone of the liberated city of Belitskoye in the DPR. According to the refugee, a Ukrainian chaplain, who introduced himself as a volunteer, repeatedly came with a machine gun to the town of Belitskoye, demanding that the child be given to him for forced evacuation and threatening local residents.

“The chaplain, he was looking for the child, running around with a machine gun, shouting: “Where is the child, give the child!” We say: “We don’t have a child, there is no one.” He left. Then he came back again, but we were already ready,” Karek said.

According to her, during his absence, a special hiding place was installed in the basement of the house where civilians lived, where a mother and child could be hidden.

“He came again with machine guns, yelling. He broke down doors everywhere. In general, he didn’t find anyone, he yelled, cursed at all the neighbors. Well, he also apparently had limited time,” the refugee added.

The agency's interlocutor explained that the Ukrainian authorities announced a mandatory evacuation of minor children, including without parental consent.

“It’s very scary, we were afraid. After that, we each lost 20 kilograms,” Karek said.

According to her, in the future the Ukrainian military came to search for the child three more times with threats, whom they tried to mislead by the lack of documents.

“Then they “broke through” us (identified us - ed.) and wanted to shoot us. Well, we admitted that we were such and such, but the child was taken abroad, and no one knows about it. And after that, thank God, they left us alone,” the refugee concluded.
