Emergency response mechanisms have been activated in many disaster-stricken counties in East Nusa Tenggara Province. Among them, Manggalai County implemented a 90-day disaster emergency response from August 15 to November 13. Engada County implemented a 30-day disaster emergency response from August 15 to September 15. East Manggarai County has entered a state of disaster alert and emergency until September 4.

According to the official measurement of the China Seismological Network, on the morning of the 15th local time, an earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale occurred in the waters near Flores Island, Indonesia, with a focal depth of 20 kilometers. The tsunami warning triggered by the earthquake has been lifted. A reporter from the main station learned from the Chinese Consulate General in Denpasar that three Chinese citizens were slightly injured in the earthquake.
