Samsung Electronics celebrates receiving the Jensen Huang Van Fleet Award with a Times Square electronic display board

Samsung Electronics broadcasted a video congratulating NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang on winning the '2026 Van Fleet Award' through an electronic display board in Times Square, New York.

From 6 p.m. on the 27th (hereinafter local time) to the 28th, Samsung Electronics presented a video highlighting CEO Jensen Huang's innovative leadership and major achievements in leading the development of the artificial intelligence (AI) industry and congratulating him on the award at the Times Square electronic display board in New York, USA.

The Van Fleet Award is an award established by the Korea Society, a non-profit organization, named after General James Van Fleet, who served as commander of the 8th U.S. Army during the Korean War. Every year, an award is given to a person or organization that has contributed to the promotion of friendship and cooperation between Korea and the United States.

CEO Jensen Huang was selected as this year's award winner in recognition of his contributions to expanding cooperation in the AI ​​and semiconductor industries between Korea and the United States by leading innovation in the AI ​​and accelerated computing fields.

This congratulatory video introduced CEO Jensen Huang's major activities and achievements, focusing on the four keywords that symbolize him: 'Pioneer', 'Architect', 'Builder', and 'Friend'.

Samsung Electronics and NVIDIA have maintained a cooperative relationship in various fields such as memory and system semiconductors for a long time, and have recently expanded the scope of cooperation further in the AI ​​era.

Samsung Electronics is pursuing the construction of an 'AI Factory' that applies AI to the entire process from research and development (R&D) to design and manufacturing by combining NVIDIA's accelerated computing and digital twin technology with semiconductor manufacturing capabilities.

The Van Fleet Award also has a deep relationship with Samsung Electronics. The late Samsung Chairman Lee Kun-hee received the Van Fleet Award in 2006 in recognition of his contribution to Korea-US economic cooperation and the development of bilateral relations.
