The Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations holds a reception to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China

China News Service, New York, September 30 (Reporter Wang Fan) On the evening of September 29, local time, the Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations held a reception to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China at its New York resident. More than 400 people attended the event, including Ambassador Fu Cong and his wife, the Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations, Ambassador Sun Lei, Deputy Representative, Rattray, Director of the Office of the United Nations Secretary-General, and other 9 United Nations Deputy Secretary-Generals, permanent representatives of more than 100 countries to the United Nations, and friends from all walks of life in the East United States.

Fu Cong said in his speech that over the past 77 years, hundreds of millions of Chinese people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, have been determined to pursue national rejuvenation, adhered to open cooperation and innovative development, successfully embarked on the path of Chinese-style modernization, and achieved world-renowned achievements. China not only develops itself, but also actively embraces the world. This year marks the 55th anniversary of the restoration of the lawful seat of the People's Republic of China in the United Nations. China has always firmly supported the United Nations, successively proposed and took the lead in implementing four major global initiatives, and contributed Chinese wisdom and Chinese solutions to eliminate the "four major deficits". China is willing to work with all countries to firmly support multilateralism and the cause of the United Nations, and work together to build a community with a shared future for mankind.

The guests at the scene jointly enjoyed the promotional video of China’s bid to host the Secretariat of the Agreement on Marine Biodiversity and the short films showing China’s national image, APEC’s “Year of China”, Chinese-style modernization and innovative development, and warmly congratulated the People’s Republic of China on its brilliant achievements in the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Some senior United Nations officials and permanent representatives took the initiative to accept interviews. They spoke highly of China's contribution to the cause of United Nations multilateralism and sincerely hoped that China would inject more impetus into global peace and development and promote the gathering of more international consensus to benefit the world.
