Looking for a place with atmosphere and not having to travel too far during the Mid-Autumn Festival? Hele Plaza in Central and West District, Nanshi City, transforms into a "time tunnel" after dark. "LONG FLOW TAINAN Hô Le" uses light, shadow, water mist, and installation art to take the public through the century-old canal years, all the way back to the ancient canal era. While walking and viewing exhibitions, you can feel the memory of Tainan as a city that coexists with water.

The Tainan Canal celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. The exhibition, with the theme of "Looking Back in Time," brings together seven installations, videos, interactive and somatosensory art works, and cleverly uses the water, ramps and space under the bridge in Hele Square to turn the city's history into an art experience that you can walk into.

People moved along the exhibition venue and traced the timeline all the way back, from Hele Plaza in 2020 to the present, back to Chinatown in 1983, then crossing the new canal in 1926, and finally arriving at the ancient canal in 1823. Through different art works, they saw how Tainan’s urban landscape and life changed along the waterfront.

The exhibition venue is even more interesting at night. Light sculptures, light and shadow combined with water mist create a dreamy effect on the water surface of Hele Square and the architectural space. As the footsteps move, the light and shadow also change, making many people say "it's like walking into a time tunnel."

"LONG FLOW TAINAN Hô" is on display until November 1, and is open from 5:30 pm to 10 pm every day. Taking advantage of the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, you might as well go to Hele Square to enjoy the wind, admire the moon, and take a "journey through time" along the century-old canal.
