Calligrapher Jiang Gaishi's "Destiny" tour arrived in Hengchun, combining calligraphy and folk songs to inherit local culture

[Reporter Cai Zongxian/Pingtung Report] Well-known calligrapher Jiang Gaishi's "One Writing Brush Across Taiwan" "Destiny" tour recently came to the Shanhaili Changguang Activity Center in Hengchun Town. It was hosted by the Rongliang Shitian Cultural and Educational Foundation and cleverly connected live calligraphy, Hengchun folk singing and community chorus. The intersection of ink fragrance and Yueqin allows local residents to experience the peninsula's profound human connections and cultural heritage.

Rongliang Shitian Cultural and Educational Foundation expressed its hope that through dialogue with calligraphy and folk songs, local culture can be heard, understood and rooted in life. Jiang Gaishi has been exploring the memory of Taiwan with colorful ink cursive calligraphy for many years. This creation is inspired by his deep gratitude for Chen Da, the master of Hengchun folk songs. The desolate power of Chen Da's "Thoughts Rises" inspired him greatly. He even used the three characters "Thoughts Rises" to transform into the image of an old yueqin, creating an affectionate dialogue between calligraphy and ancient tunes.

The highlight of the scene continued. The guest performer Chen Qingsong, who is Chen Da's nephew, played and sang ancient tunes on the Yueqin, integrating local daily life and land stories, perfectly echoing Jiang Gaishi's ink colors. Later, Yan Zixi and Xie Yuansheng, children from Shanhai Elementary School, sang "Port Suspension Bridge" and "Moonlight on Dongmen City" in relay. The fresh children's voices showed the natural continuation of their hometown culture.

At the end of the event, people from the Shanhai community sang a chorus accompanied by the children's Yueqin, and the simple music and singing brought a warm ending. The foundation emphasizes that it will continue to support cultural exchanges in the future so that the fragrance of ink, folk songs and children's voices can continue to be praised in the daily life of the community.
