China News Service, Chongzuo, September 4 (Lv Guiwen) Affected by Typhoon "Red Sandalwood", Ningming County, Chongzuo City, Guangxi Province has recently suffered severe floods, causing heavy losses in agricultural production. After the floods receded, the county planned early, acted quickly, and took multiple measures to promote post-disaster resumption of production and planting to make up for the economic losses caused by the typhoon.

In order to scientifically guide post-disaster production, Ningming County moved agricultural technology classes to the front lines of the disaster. Recently, Ningming County held on-site meetings on post-disaster sugarcane production recovery and post-disaster rice resumption in Zhai'an Township and Mingjiang Town respectively.
Technical personnel from local sugar companies explained field management techniques such as sugarcane righting, field drainage, dead plant cleaning, and scientific management and fertilization to sugarcane farmers; agricultural technicians from the Ningming County Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau explained to farmers the disinfection treatment of flooded rice, seedlings Transplanting, seedling management and protection, pest and disease prevention and control, scientific fertilization and other technologies; Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences Sugarcane Research Institute and Guangxi Sugarcane Team organized a team of technical experts to go to the front lines of the disaster-stricken sugarcane fields in Mingjiang Town and Haiyuan Town to guide sugarcane farmers in resuming sugarcane production and planting after the disaster.

In order to help the affected people resume production as soon as possible and obtain income as soon as possible, the agricultural department of Ningming County has actively guided farmers to develop "short-term, flat and fast" projects according to local conditions.
For the main rice-producing towns such as Chengzhong, Mingjiang, Zhai'an, and Haiyuan, the agricultural department transported rice seedlings from other places to farmers to replant 1,300 acres of rice. At the same time, agricultural technicians also guided farmers to sow seeds directly in flooded fields with soaked and germinated grains.

In addition, relevant departments in Ningming County have guided farmers to replant plots that have failed to produce crops and plant "quick varieties" such as radishes and vegetables. The local government has allocated RMB 600,000 to subsidize farmers to plant 10,000 acres of corn. Relevant departments also plan to purchase 6 million fish fry and 40,000 medium-sized chickens and distribute them to the victims to raise them, so as to expand the income channels for the affected people through the development of breeding industry.
