Zhu Fenglian choked, saying that the Shanghai side went to Taipei as usual, but the "DPP authorities" stubbornly insisted on Taiwan's independence, deliberately set up various obstacles to the holding of the forum, unreasonably obstructed and undermined cross-strait exchanges and cooperation, and was unpopular.

Regarding the controversy surrounding the Twin Cities Forum, Mainland Affairs Council Chairman Qiu Chuizheng stressed yesterday that Taipei Mayor Chiang Wanan attended the Twin Cities Forum last year and China launched military exercises against Taiwan the day after returning to Taiwan. This forum has no role in cross-strait exchanges.
