Trump threatens Iran, says he held productive talks with Iranian officials

U.S. President Trump delivered a speech at the United Nations General Assembly on the 22nd. In his speech, he threatened Iran that if an agreement to end the war cannot be reached as soon as possible, he may "destroy" Iran. Shortly after Trump issued the "threat," Trump said that U.S. and Iranian officials had held a "productive meeting."

According to foreign media reports, Trump mentioned in his speech: "I have a big decision to make. Should I reach an agreement with Iran that allows them to rebuild and become a greater country? Or should I quickly and completely eliminate this Islamic Republic and never give them the opportunity to destroy people and countries again? Should I send them to hell and leave no chance of survival?" Trump was cryptic and reiterated his belief that Iran will reach an agreement immediately after the U.S. midterm elections in November.

A few hours after Trump "issued the threat," Trump revealed to the media present that U.S. and Iranian officials had held a meeting that day, and the meeting lasted for three hours. Trump did not reveal many details, saying only that it was a "very good meeting." Trump said: "Their meeting went very well, and we will wait and see what the outcome will be. But what is certain is that it is good for them to reach an agreement, and we can do it. I think that is the best choice."
