(Nagoya = Yonhap News) Reporter Dae-ho Lee = Korean boxer Kim Min-seong (Korea National Sport University) advanced to the semifinals in the men's 80kg class at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games and secured a bronze medal.

Min-seong Kim won a 4-1 decision over Indonesia's Mykel Roberto Musquita in the quarterfinals of the tournament held at the Nishio Gymnasium in Nishio, Aichi Prefecture, Japan on the 27th.

In the Asian Games and Olympic boxing, bronze medals are awarded to all players who lose in the semifinals without a separate bronze medal match, so Kim Min-seong confirmed his entry into the medal zone with this win.

Kim Min-seong got off to an uneasy start, losing 1-4 in the first round decision.

Four out of five judges gave Musquita 10 points, taking the lead.

However, Kim Min-seong fought back fiercely from the second round. He delivered an accurate punch that took advantage of the opponent's gap and earned a perfect score of 10 from all five judges, bringing the game back to square one.

Kim Min-seong, riding on the momentum, continued his aggressive offensive in the final third round.

Four judges declared an advantage (10-9) in the third round, and the final score was 4-1, completing a comeback victory.

Kim Min-seong, who secured the bronze medal, aims to advance to the finals in the semifinals to be held on the 30th.
