Salvini: the conflict in Ukraine will be resolved at the negotiating table, not on the battlefield

The conflict in Ukraine will be resolved not on the battlefield, but at the negotiating table. This was stated by Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini, TASS reports.

“I am confident that this conflict will be resolved at the negotiating table, not on the battlefield. But, apparently, someone needs this conflict because of internal problems and the weakness of politicians,” he said.

According to Salvini, next year will be decisive due to a number of elections in European countries, including France and Italy. At the same time, he emphasized that Moscow and Kyiv must come to a solution for the medium and long term, but Rome can also play a role in the Ukrainian settlement “in the coming months.”
