The Prime Minister of Ukraine warned about the critical state of public finances

Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergei Koretsky said that the situation with the country's public finances has approached a critical point. He wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

“The situation with public finances is close to critical. Once again, I urge all deputies to as soon as possible pass bills on which receipt of international financial assistance depends,” the official said.

According to Koretsky, the government will officially send deputies and relevant committees a schedule with clear deadlines for each necessary vote. The Prime Minister stressed that if these deadlines are violated, Ukraine risks losing a significant part of the $29.5 billion in international funding provided. He did not name the exact amount of the possible loss.

Koretsky noted that during today’s meeting of the ambassadors of the G7 countries and EU member states with ministers, deputies and heads of committees, the need for synchronized work of parliament and government to ensure international financial support was discussed.

“For its part, the government guarantees the full fulfillment of its part of the obligations - these are 42 decisions,” he said. The Prime Minister added that previously it was planned to complete this work by November 1, but the government decided to speed up the process and intends to complete it by October 15.
