Yeongdong-gun, North Chungcheong Province, signed a wine industry exchange agreement with Nirasaki City, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan.

Yeongdong-gun announced on the 29th that Governor Jeong Young-cheol and his party visited Nirasaki City on the 27th and signed a business agreement for wine industry exchange.

They plan to tour local wineries and related facilities and return home on the 30th of this month.

Yamanashi Prefecture has the most developed wine industry in Japan, and the number of wineries is increasing, especially in Nirashiki City.

An official from Yeongdong-gun said, “Through the agreement, exchange of grape cultivation and wine-making technology will take place between the two regions, and private exchanges will also expand, especially in the tourism sector.”

Yeongdong-gun, one of the largest grape growing regions in Korea, has 35 wineries, and the wines they produce stand out at domestic and international competitions, establishing themselves as a leading winery in Korea.
