Former NATO representative in Moscow John Lowe admitted that Russia's statements about the superiority of its army over the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the battlefield are fair.

According to him, Ukrainians “are losing ground” from under their feet.

MOSCOW, September 30 – RIA Novosti. Former NATO representative in Moscow John Lowe admitted that Russia's statements about the superiority of its army over the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the battlefield are fair, his words are reported by the Independent newspaper.

"President Vladimir Putin thinks he is winning, and I think he is right. <...> I think many in Western countries have begun to think that the situation is changing <...>, but this is deceptive because the Russians have an advantage in the air and are actually making the Ukrainians pay for what they have done," he said.

According to Lowe, the ground is “going away” from under Ukrainians’ feet.

“I’m not sure that our leaders have fully realized what this really means - how quickly the situation in Ukraine can deteriorate and what burden will fall on us. <...> I don’t think that we really see any prerequisites for this at the moment. This is the problem, and the Ukrainians clearly feel it,” the former NATO representative concluded.

Vladimir Putin announced on September 23 that all the goals set within the framework of the SVO will be achieved.
