“When averaged over hundreds of millions of years, the length of the day increases unevenly. Thus, in the time of dinosaurs, the length of the day was about 22 hours,” said Pasynok.

The scientist clarified that the rotation of the Earth is a very complex process that includes many components. The speed of rotation of the Earth, on which the length of the day depends, changes nonlinearly and fluctuates, both regularly and irregularly.
