The Chinese Folk Village in Zhongpu Township, Chiayi County was renovated into Gonghao Park and opened on September 26.

The "Chinese Folk Village" in Zhongpu Township, Chiayi County has been idle and abandoned for a long time, has a dirty environment, and has security concerns. The Chiayi County Government spent 70 million yuan to renovate and revitalize it into a "Gonghao Park", which will be opened during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday. The 2.05-hectare area is planned to include seven themed areas, including not only the "Gonghao Vitality and Fitness Area" popular with seniors, but also the "Gonghao Big Tree Playground" with a large spherical climbing net and slides, creating a shared area for all ages.

The county government stated that Zhongpu's "Gonghao Park" broke ground in November 2025 and spent more than 70 million yuan to renovate it in the past year. It was completed and opened on September 26. The original idle space was re-planned, combining the four-season forest and flower landscapes, and introducing universal design concepts, taking into account different ages and user needs, and planning "Gonghao Big Tree Playground", "Poinciana Green Grassland", and "Tail Pine Secret Realm" , "Wind Chime Path", "Green Valley Stage", "Qiu Valley Green Road" and "Gong Hao Vitality and Fitness Area". Among them, "Gong Hao Big Tree Playground" is equipped with a large spherical climbing net and special slides. It is used as a children's play space. The "Green Valley Stage" adopts a concave stage design, with an activity green space that can accommodate about 3,500 people, and has the functions of daily rest and large-scale art and cultural performances.

Chiayi County Mayor Weng Zhangliang said that the location of Gonghao Park was once a Chinese folk village, which carries the common memories of many Chiayi people. It has gradually been abandoned due to long-term inactivity and has become a security corner. Chiayi County Councilors and Zhongpu Township Office have repeatedly reported that the Wu Feng Memorial Park plan was promoted through the BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) project, but several bids failed.

Weng Zhangliang said that in order to revitalize it as soon as possible, the county government has reorganized half of the area into Gonghao Park. Zhongpu villagers can have a place to relax and have fun, hold activities on holidays, and children can run and play here. At the same time, he hopes that manufacturers will see the potential of the transformed area and attract manufacturers to invest and operate it. After the park is completed, it will be managed and maintained by the Zhongpu Township Office.

The County Culture and Tourism Bureau stated that Gonghao Park is adjacent to Provincial Provincial Highway 18 Alishan Highway, Provincial Provincial Provincial Provincial Provincial Provincial Highway 3 and Wufeng Temple, a county-designated historic site. It is an important tourist node on the Alishan tourist axis. In the future, it will further connect Wufeng Temple and surrounding cultural, leisure and tourism resources, promote the BOT development of Wufeng Memorial Park, create a tourist corridor with cultural, leisure, ecological and sightseeing characteristics, and inject new tourism vitality into the Zhongpu and Alishan entrance areas.
