[Reporter Dong Baiting/Reporting from Taipei] The outdoor masterpiece "The Elephant Is Coming..." created by French street art representative Oposito Theater will be staged on the streets of Shilin, Taipei at 7:14 pm on September 5th and 6th, kicking off the 2026 Taipei Arts Festival. In the face of recent occasional rain showers in Taipei, the Taipei Performing Arts Center stated that except for extreme weather conditions such as typhoons, performances will be held rain or shine. In order to maintain smooth circulation in the surrounding area, the organizer will implement phased traffic control on Jihe Road starting from 5:30 p.m. As long as you master the secrets of boarding and alternative parking, you can avoid congestion and watch the show easily.

The North Arts Center recommends that the elephant parade route starts from Shin Kong Life Shilin Education Center and marches along Jihe Road to the outdoor square of the North Arts Center. The Transportation Bureau and Beiyi Center reminded that the MRT is the best way to view the show. For the outbound journey, it is recommended to take the Tamsui-Xinyi Line to Exit 2 of "Shilin Station" and walk along Zhongzheng Road to the starting point of Jihe Road. This can avoid the crowds at Jiantan Station and stroll along the line; when the show is over, go to the nearest "Jiantan Station" to catch a bus.

As for road traffic, from 5:30 pm to 9 pm on September 5 and 6, Jihe Road (Zhongzheng Road to Wenlin Road) will be closed to general vehicles. For north-south crossing traffic, please use Chengde Road, Zhongshan North Road or Wenlin Road in advance. For buses, the four bus stops on Jihe Road, namely "Da Nan Road Intersection", "Shilin District Administrative Center", "Public Education Residence" and "Shilin Market", do not stop in both directions during control hours. People can get on and off at Chengde Road "Da Nan Road Intersection" or Zhongzheng Road "MRT Shilin Station".

In addition, the roadside automobile and motorcycle grids around Jihe Road will be completely closed from 2 p.m. on September 4 to late night on the 6th. In addition to parking at the Science and Education Center, Planetarium or Qiangang Park underground parking lot, drivers can also choose the parking lot behind Shilin Elementary School, the parking lot near Shilin Paper Factory, or the paid parking lot in front of Shin Kong Hospital.
