Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced the introduction of EMIAS in clinics in St. Petersburg

MOSCOW, September 16 - RIA Novosti. The implementation of the Moscow Unified Medical Information and Analytical System begins in St. Petersburg clinics; medical care will become more accessible and of better quality for the 5.6 million residents of the northern capital, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.

“In cooperation with Governor Alexander Beglov, we are introducing the Moscow EMIAS system in healthcare institutions of St. Petersburg... For 5.6 million St. Petersburg residents, medical care will become more accessible and of better quality. We are starting: the implementation of EMIAS in all 197 St. Petersburg clinics until 2028 (the system is already being tested in three of them),” Sobyanin wrote in a channel on the Max platform.

The mayor added that unlimited technical support for EMIAS will be launched in hospitals in the northern capital. Also, a special mobile application “EMIAS.Petersburg” has been developed for St. Petersburg residents - the main tool for making an appointment with a doctor and accessing an electronic medical record.

Sobyanin noted that the joint work of Moscow and St. Petersburg will help automate key processes of hospitalization and medical care. As a result, St. Petersburg doctors and patients will be able to use convenient services that Muscovites have long been accustomed to.

“Patients will be able to make an appointment at any time, view data in an electronic medical record, order the necessary certificates, upload medical documents, receive telemedicine consultations, keep health diaries, and evaluate the quality of admission and hospitalization,” the mayor said.

Sobyanin emphasized that doctors and other health workers in St. Petersburg will be able to integrate new principles and approaches to providing medical care into their work. Thus, they will have access to managing patient schedules and attachments, automatically filling out examination protocols, generating appointments, conclusions, referrals for research, certificates and sick leave, as well as creating dispensary observation programs and telemedicine consultations.

“Since 2024, we have been implementing a Unified Medical Information and Analytical System in healthcare institutions in St. Petersburg. For this, we have created a separate team of Moscow experts. By the end of 2026, EMIAS will be operational in all St. Petersburg hospitals,” noted the head of the city.
