Ulju Cultural Foundation holds Eonyang-eupseong Ongoeul Festival… Resident-led lifestyle and culture festival

Ulsan Ulju Cultural Foundation will hold the 'Eonyang-eupseong Ongoeul Festival', the second event of the '2026 Ulju Neighborhood Festival', on the lawn opposite the Eonyang Post Office near Eonyang-eupseong, Ulju-gun, on the 12th.

This event is a neighborhood festival directly planned and operated by the resident community that was selected for the '2026 Ulju Neighborhood Festival' contest, a resident-led lifestyle and culture festival in each Ulju-gun region.

Eonyang-eupseong Fortress, which had difficulties in utilizing space due to its designation as a cultural heritage protection area, will be transformed into an open space where residents and culture can come together, and a sustainable community festival with historical meaning will be prepared.

A total of eight resident communities participate in the Eonyang Eupseong Ongoeul Festival, including Alps Nanta, Oasis Band, Arang Go Janggu, Line Dance, Bonnie Band, Hoyeon Life Folktales, Autumn Scent, and Dongbu 1-ri Village Association.

Lee Dong-hee and Jeong Myeong-hwa, local culture keepers of Eonyang-eup, are in charge of planning and operation, and Eonyang residents participate as main participants in the festival.

Starting at 3 p.m. with an acoustic guitar performance and a musical rope-jumping performance by the Shineon Middle School club, the Alps Nanta Book Nanta performance and the opening ceremony will follow.

Afterwards, various cultural performances prepared by residents will be held, such as Arang Go Janggu, line dancing, Oasis Band saxophone performance, senior model runway, and Bonnie Band 5-member vocal performance.

In the middle of the performance, participatory programs such as nostalgic games, games, and prize drawings will be provided in which the audience can participate.

There are also various experience programs that anyone of any age can enjoy, such as making traditional rice cakes, planting chrysanthemums, drawing traditional folk paintings, and making nostalgic Dalgona.

It was designed so that visitors to the festival could experience the traditions and lifestyle of Eonyang through experience booths directly planned and operated by the local community.
