Disciplinary action was demanded against public officials in Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province, who improperly processed permits for the development of large-scale mansions. Gyeonggi Province announced on the 19th that, after investigating civil complaints, it requested Yangpyeong-gun to impose light punishment on two employees involved in development activities at the end of last month. According to Gyeonggi Province, it was discovered that the construction business operator for the 13,000 m2 mansion of a mid-sized group chairman in Gangha-myeon, Yangpyeong-gun divided the construction into three projects with an area of ​​less than 5,000 m2 and applied for permission, and this was acknowledged and permission for development activities was granted. Accordingly, under the National Land Planning Act, in the case of development activities over 5,000 m2, an access road with a width of 6 meters or more must be secured, but the business site used an access road with a width of 3 meters. An official from Gyeonggi Province said, “Reports reported by residents to the Board of Audit and Inspection were transferred to Gyeonggi Province and a civil complaint investigation was conducted. Although we were fully aware of the splitting of the construction, we judged that there was a problem in viewing each construction as separate construction as intended by the business operator.”
