They were all blocked by Blue and White. The window for the Supervisory Yuan is bound to be further extended. This shot is not unexpected. Most of the provisions of the legislative amendments to the powers of Congress pushed by Blue and White in 2024 were found to be unconstitutional. In less than two months, the opposition party revised the Constitutional Prosecution Law to raise the threshold for review, and twice rejected all the justices nominated by President Lai Ching-te. Independent institutions have not been spared. The organic law of the NCC was revised twice in 2024, and the term extension clause was deleted. Only 3 members were left unable to hold meetings. The four people nominated in November last year were all rejected. Since August this year, there have been no members for the first time in 20 years. Except for the chairperson You Yinglong, the Central Election Commission only allowed candidates recommended by the opposition.
