Golden song winner Hong Peiyu serves as Taiwan International Women's Film Festival ambassador. She was almost taken away by a stranger as a child.

[Reporter Xu Shiying/Report from Taipei] Golden song winner Hong Peiyu was invited to serve as the ambassador of the Taiwan International Women's Film Festival this year. Yesterday (22nd), she attended a ticketed press conference. In addition to sharing her feelings about participating in the film festival, she also accidentally talked about her childhood experience of almost being taken away by a stranger. When she was only 10 years old, she went out to buy a drink alone and was approached by a strange man. Fortunately, her mother discovered in time that her daughter had not returned home for a long time, and even rushed out with a razor to look for him, thus resolving the crisis.

Hong Peiyu recalled that she was about 10 years old at the time. "When I was young, my mother always liked to dress me up beautifully. The neighborhood around my house was not very busy at that time. My mother was a hairdresser at that time. She sent me to buy sugar cane juice. She found that I hadn't come back for a long time. She happened to be shaving someone's beard. She rushed out to look for me with a razor and found that a stranger wanted to take me away."

She revealed that a young man was riding a motorcycle and seemed to think she was a lost child. "I was in an arcade at that time, and there was a row of motorcycles between me and the boy. He kept asking if he wanted to take me home. At that time, I was going home after buying sugar cane juice, because my mother usually told me not to talk too much to strangers, so I was a little scared and couldn't move." Fortunately, it was not far from home at the time, and her mother arrived in time and allowed her to escape safely.

As a film festival ambassador for the first time, Hong Peiyu said frankly that it felt quite fresh, "This is the first time I have been an ambassador for a very meaningful event. I actually had a period of time where it would be more direct to respond in the way I am used to. I don't specialize in academic knowledge, but I picked it up when I was dancing."

In the past, she has sung the farewell theme song "Goodbye" from the movie "Sunshine Girls Chorus" and the theme song "Same Style" from the movie "Public Holiday Today". Hong Peiyu was also asked whether she would like to challenge film performances in the future. She joked that she would be willing to try it if given the chance, but she was not sure about the thriller genre. "I would really like to try the 'Black Swan' type, but I can scare people, so I don't want to be scared. It's fun just thinking about it."

The 33rd Taiwan International Women's Film Festival 2026 will be held at the Guangdian Huashan Cinema from October 16th to 25th. It went on sale yesterday (22nd).
