Lin Daihua promotes Zuoying Mingjian New Village to apply for a world heritage site and create an international cultural landmark

In order to accelerate the revitalization and cultural inheritance of the largest naval military village settlement in Taiwan, Legislator Lin Daihua invited relevant units to conduct a survey of Mingjian New Village in Zuoying District, Kaohsiung City today (7th). She pointed out that the Political War Bureau of the Ministry of National Defense selected Mingjian New Village as the place to apply for WMF It is the starting point of the demonstration of the World Heritage Conservation Plan, and Zuoying Military Village is the only military community settlement in the world with large-scale integrity. It is hoped that the central government will work with local public opinion to revive it and become the most dazzling new international cultural landmark in Kaohsiung.

Lin Daihua invited central and local representatives from the Cultural Resources Bureau of the Ministry of Culture, the Political and Warfare Bureau of the Ministry of National Defense, the Navy Headquarters, the Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Transportation, the Land Administration Bureau of the Ministry of the Interior, and the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Gao City Government to go to Zuoying Mingjian New Village for on-site inspections. Later, an inter-departmental meeting was held at the "Goodbye Eight Eight Mainland - Taiwan Military Village Cultural Park" to promote Zuoying Military Village to the international stage.

Regarding the evaluation report that the Ministry of National Defense has completed and submitted to the "World Monuments Fund (WMF) World Heritage Conservation Plan", Lin Daihua hopes that the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of National Defense will work together to make Taiwan's unique military village culture shine internationally.

Jian Meiling, deputy director of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Gao City Government, explained that the core family houses of Zuoying Military Village are being repaired in phases, and special shops are expected to start operating in October this year. Mingde New Village and related family houses will also be gradually restored between 2027 and 2028. Huang Yiping, Section Chief of the International Section of the Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Transport, promised that in the future, he will fully cooperate with the "diversified marketing, global layout" strategy to promote the style and food of military dependents at overseas travel fairs, and integrate Taiwan PASS, Taiwan Travel and international tourist high-speed rail projects, plan overseas media and travel agencies to follow the lead, and create culturally themed itineraries with international appeal.
