Latvia is ready to deploy nuclear weapons on its territory if NATO makes such a decision. This was stated by the President of the country neighboring Russia, Edgar Rinkevich, his words were reported by the Delfi agency.

“If the need arises and the appropriate NATO collective decision is made, nuclear weapons will be deployed in Latvia,” the politician said.

He emphasized that there is no direct ban on the deployment of nuclear weapons in the Latvian constitution. At the same time, Rinkevich added that there are currently no specific discussions on this issue in the republic.
