China News Service, Yibin, September 23 (Wang Liwen) On September 22, the opening ceremony of the fifth Sichuan and Taiwan High-Quality Development Activity to Support Rural Revitalization was held in Yibin, Sichuan. More than 250 Taiwanese businessmen and youths developing in the mainland, heads of agriculture-related and Taiwan-related enterprises, experts and scholars in the field of "agriculture, rural areas and farmers" attended the meeting. The event focused on the theme of "Integration of Sichuan and Taiwan to promote revitalization, building dreams together and creating a new chapter", aiming to gather the wisdom of Sichuan and Taiwan to help rural revitalization, and jointly promote cultural exchanges and integrated economic and social development between Sichuan and Taiwan.

Liu Chengming, Vice Chairman of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and member of the Party Leadership Group, attended the opening ceremony of the event and delivered a speech. He said that Sichuan is in a critical period of accelerating agricultural and rural modernization and connecting the past and the future. It continues to promote the transformation of traditional agriculture into modern agriculture and the leap from a large agricultural province to a strong agricultural province, providing broad space for deepening cooperation in agriculture between Sichuan and Taiwan. Sichuan will always uphold the concept of "one family on both sides of the Taiwan Strait", actively do practical things, do good things, and solve problems for Taiwan compatriots, work together to create and continue to work hard, continue to promote deeper cross-Strait exchanges, and work together to make rural development better.
Ho Cheng-cheng, founding chairman of the Taiwan Chinese Agricultural Enterprise Development Association and head of the Taiwan Science and Technology Agricultural Ecological Education Park, said that in the context of rural revitalization, Sichuan takes promoting the development of rural specialty industries as an important starting point and will continue to spawn new business formats and new models. He hopes that this exchange event will bear fruitful results and become a golden bridge connecting various agricultural, cultural and tourism industries in Sichuan and Taiwan.
"Sichuan and Taiwan share the same roots and cultural heritage. Agricultural cooperation and rural exchanges have always been an important carrier to promote cross-Strait integration, achieve practical results, and gather people's hearts." Peng Huiyu, executive director of the Taiwan Chinese New Media Exchange Association, said that the two sides use the countryside as a carrier and agriculture as a link to enhance understanding and build identity through pragmatic cooperation and deep cultivation of local soil. She hopes that more Taiwanese young people will visit Sichuan, take root in the countryside, innovate and start businesses, so that "both sides of the Taiwan Strait, one family" will take root in the fields and become deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.
Over the years, agricultural exchanges and cooperation between Sichuan and Taiwan have yielded fruitful results. At present, Sichuan has registered more than 300 Taiwan-funded agricultural enterprises with a total investment of nearly 15 billion yuan. It has built 2 national-level "Taiwan Farmers Entrepreneurship Parks", 1 provincial-level "Sichuan-Taiwan Rural Revitalization Cooperation Experimental Park" and 30 provincial-level "Sichuan-Taiwan Agricultural Cooperation Demonstration Bases". The areas of cooperation cover multiple dimensions such as introduction and breeding, precision agricultural technology empowerment, and the export of agricultural products from Sichuan to the sea.
This event was held in Yibin from September 21 to 23. It was guided by the United Front Work Department of the Sichuan Provincial Committee, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Sichuan Provincial Committee, and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Sichuan Province. It was co-organized by the Huangpu Military Academy Alumni Association of Sichuan Province, the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Kuomintang Revolutionary Committee, the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Peasants and Workers Party, the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Zhi Gong Party, the Sichuan Taiwan Federation, the Sichuan Liaison Service Center for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwanese Overseas Chinese, and the United Front Work Department of the Yibin Municipal Committee. During the event, guests attending the meeting will conduct on-site inspections of economic and social development, implementation of rural revitalization strategies, and agricultural industry development.
