The 4th China (Nanning)-ASEAN Intangible Cultural Heritage Week kicked off in Nanning, Guangxi

China News Service, Nanning, September 25th (Zhang Guangquan, Xiao Jingfeng) The 4th China (Nanning)-ASEAN Intangible Cultural Heritage Week kicked off on the 24th in Nanning, Guangxi.

This event was jointly sponsored by the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and the Nanning Municipal People's Government.

During this Intangible Cultural Heritage Week, representative inheritors of intangible cultural heritage from Yunnan, Guizhou and ASEAN countries gathered in Yongcheng to perform on the same stage as representative inheritors of local intangible cultural heritage in Guangxi. Guangxi's intangible cultural heritage programs such as the Zhuang Guigu and the Jing Duxianqin made their debut; the Yunnan Divine Bird Dance Galino and Yunnan Dehong Munao Zongge made their debuts; the Dong people in Guizhou sang their songs loudly; and ASEAN special programs such as the Myanmar Bend Qin and the Malaysian Mek Mulung were successively staged, vividly demonstrating the unique charm of China and ASEAN's intangible cultural heritage across mountains and seas, exchanges and mutual learning.

That night, the arcade block with three streets and two lanes was transformed into a fully immersive interactive scene. Intangible cultural heritage performances such as the Zhuang Song Festival and the wooden fish in the mansion were brought to the public. A "Full Moon Sharing·Moon Splitting Ceremony" session was also set up to share Mid-Autumn mooncakes collectively.

At the scene, there was a dazzling array of intangible cultural heritage items: Vietnamese East Lake paintings and Thai lanterns showed the ASEAN style; Nanjing Yun brocade, Henan Tang Sancai, and Dali Bai tie-dye showed Chinese ingenuity; Zhuang brocade, Cangwu Liubao tea, and Qinzhou Nixing pottery told the story of Guangxi's intangible cultural heritage. Liuzhou snail noodles, Hepu moon cakes, Yao camellia and other Eight Gui flavors are lingering in the aroma. Visitors can watch craftsmanship, shop for goodies, and taste delicious food here.

According to the organizer, this event coordinates multiple components such as stage performances, neighborhood parades, and intangible cultural heritage markets. It selects domestic and foreign intangible cultural heritage resources, creates neighborhood-themed check-in scenes, promotes intangible cultural heritage and public sharing, and provides citizens and tourists with a full cultural and tourism feast.

In addition, during this Intangible Cultural Heritage Week, a series of activities such as the "National Trend Renewal" intangible cultural heritage clothing boutique exhibition, the "Hundred Birds Expressing Love" folk literature light and shadow exhibition, the "Hundred Birds Clothes in My Heart" Zhuang Brocade Clothing Innovation Design Competition and the Designer Dialogue Salon will also be held.

This event aims to deepen cultural exchanges between China and ASEAN and promote the creative transformation and innovative development of Guangxi’s intangible cultural heritage resources. It is reported that China-ASEAN Intangible Cultural Heritage Week will last until September 28.
