Western analysts report a possible modernization of the Russian Perimeter system

Western analysts believe that Russia could allegedly revive the system of a guaranteed nuclear retaliatory strike. The Times reported on the alleged Russian analogue of the Soviet “Dead Man’s Hand” system.

“Apparently, the Dead Hand is undergoing a large-scale modernization. (...) The system is designed to deliver a retaliatory strike,” the publication says.

The publication suggests that the revival of the project is connected with US nuclear policy.
