Ministers of Justice, Culture and National Education commemorated Atatürk and Martyrs on the 102nd Anniversary of the Liberation of Izmir

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek stated that the liberation of Izmir from enemy occupation is one of the most important symbols of the War of Independence and the epic of independence.

Gürlek said:

"The first bullet fired by Hasan Tahsin against the occupation forces in Izmir became one of the symbols of the War of Independence, and our nation's struggle for independence against imperialism achieved victory when Captain Şerafettin Bey raised our glorious flag in Izmir on September 9, 1922. On this occasion, I wish mercy and gratitude to all the heroes of our War of Independence, our dear martyrs, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk." "I remember our heroic veterans with respect and gratitude."

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy stated that September 9 was a historical day when the epic struggle against the occupation resulted in the liberation of Izmir and the will for independence was declared to the whole world.

Ersoy said, "On the anniversary of the liberation of our Izmir, I commemorate Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his comrades in arms, our beloved martyrs and all the heroes of the War of Independence with mercy, gratitude and respect." he said.

Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin stated that they experienced the enthusiasm and pride of September 9, which he described as "the great victory that liberated the beloved nation", with the excitement of the first day.

Tekin said, "On the anniversary of this meaningful day, I remember with mercy, gratitude and respect all our heroes who made these lands our homeland, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk." shared his message.
