The scandal at the Warsaw Southern Hospital: the investigation and control of the National Health Fund are ongoing

The lawyer of doctor Dawid Kacprzyk, attorney Jacek Dubois, said in an interview with RMF FM that his client has not yet received any summons for questioning.

The prosecutor's office replies that the investigation into this case is ongoing. About two hundred people need to be interviewed, and the investigators will issue a new statement at the beginning of October at the earliest.

The National Health Fund announced on Thursday that the inspection at the Warsaw Southern Hospital, which began in the summer, will most likely last until October due to the multi-threaded nature of the proceedings.

The National Health Fund's inspections at the Southern Hospital are the result of the June publications of the Zero.pl portal, which described the case of Dawid Kacprzyk, a doctor and former councilor of the Civic Coalition. As the coordinator of the Emergency Department at the Southern Hospital, the medic was supposed to earn PLN 1.6 million during his specialization in anesthesiology last year. The findings of the portal's journalists also showed that KO politicians were to be admitted without waiting at the branch run by Kacprzyk, and comprehensive examinations were to be performed almost immediately after they registered.

The consequences of the scandal at the Southern Hospital are the regulations adopted by the government yesterday. They are to introduce an upper limit on doctors' monthly earnings of over PLN 76,000. PLN gross. These provisions have been submitted to the Sejm, and MPs are to consider them at the beginning of October.
