(부산=연합뉴스) 김선호 기자 = 부산시는 과학기술정보통신부와 정보통신기획평가원이 추진하는 '인공지능(AI) 최고급 신진 연구자 지원 사업'에 부산대학교가 최종 선정됐다고 8일 밝혔다.

이 사업은 글로벌 AI 기술혁신을 선도할 최고급 신진 연구자를 육성하고, 세계적 수준의 AI 연구 성과 창출을 지원하는 국가 공모 사업이다.

시는 부산대와 올해부터 6년간 국비 110억원 등 총 121억원으로 AI 바이오·의료 융합 분야 연구 개발을 추진한다.

부산대 연구진은 이번 사업으로 초음파 영상, 생체 신호, 유전체, 진단 데이터 등을 통합하는 멀티모달 AI 기반 정밀 의료 플랫폼 구축을 목표로 연구한다.

주요 연구과제는 초음파 3D 영상 기술, 범용 의료 일반 인공지능 기반 자동 진단 생성 시스템, 질병 연관 나노센서 및 AI 예측 모델 개발 등이다.

시는 이번 사업으로 우수 AI 연구자의 지역 정착과 연구 역량 강화를 지원하고, 연구 성과가 지역 기업의 경쟁력 강화로 이어지도록 지원할 계획이다.

김동현 부산시 미래기술전략국장은 "이번 사업이 지역 산업의 혁신과 새로운 일자리 창출로 연결되도록 노력하겠다"고 말했다.
