Budget policy consultation at Chungcheongnam-do Provincial Office... “Realization of ‘AI Capital of Chungnam’ and Balanced Growth”

(Seoul, Hongseong = Yonhap News) Reporter Park Gyeong-jun and Choi Joo-seong = Prior to the National Assembly's review of next year's budget, the Democratic Party of Korea held a regional budget policy council in Hongseong, South Chungcheong Province on the 4th and discussed the budget status and support plans for regional projects.

At the council meeting on this day, the main topic of discussion was the Chungcheong area mega project, in which approximately 392 trillion won will be invested in the semiconductor and display fields.

Representative Kim Min-seok said, “In order to support the mega project, the party will pay attention to and take care of the entire Chungcheong region,” and added, “We will proactively consider what to challenge in the National Assembly in addition to the central and local governments.”

He also responded to the regional committee chairs' request to connect the GTX Line C, which connects Yangju, Gyeonggi Province, to Suwon to Asan, Cheonan, by saying, "Review the connection of the line for the success of the mega project," senior spokesperson Park Seong-jun told reporters.

Policy Committee Chairman Kwon Chil-seung pointed out, "Transportation infrastructure and future growth industries also account for a large portion of Chungcheongnam-do's budget. Construction on the KTX connection, which will allow you to travel from the west coast to Yongsan without transfers, is expected to begin soon. This part also appears to require smooth preparation."

South Chungcheong Governor Park Soo-hyun said, “We will use the largest high-tech investment since Dangun as an opportunity to realize ‘AI Capital Chungnam’ and achieve balanced growth where the fruits of innovation and investment in the high-tech industry reach all 15 cities and counties in Chungcheongnam-do evenly.”

He then emphasized, "We are pursuing a speed-of-light support administration that provides customized support for companies' difficulties so that corporate investments linked to megaprojects in the Chungcheong region can be made quickly. We will achieve a great transformation in Chungcheongnam-style AI."
