AIT Kaohsiung Branch Director Shi Chongli paid a visit to Pingtung County Governor Zhou Chunmi to exchange information on industry and culture

Lee, the new director of the Kaohsiung branch of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) Skluzak paid a visit to Pingtung County Governor Zhou Chunmi today (24th). The two sides exchanged views on issues such as industrial development, multiculturalism and international exchanges. Zhou Chunmi not only expressed his welcome, introduced the county's special cuisine and honest people, but also invited Shi Chongli to participate in the National Day holiday "World in Pingtung", Christmas light-up, Donggang tuna auction, and the triennial Donggang Welcome King Peace Festival and other activities to experience first-hand the lively atmosphere of Pingtung's multiculturalism and local industries.

Zhou Chunmi said that Pingtung has diverse ethnic cultures such as Hakkas, military villages, and aborigines, and snacks from various regions also show different characteristics. In addition to meatballs, beef hotpot, Wanluan pig's feet, and other representative delicacies such as Donggang black tuna, Zhou Chunmi specially presented a vest with the cultural imagery of Pingtung's indigenous ethnic groups and invited Director Shi to visit Pingtung when he has time to gain a deeper understanding of Pingtung's rich cultural heritage through food and local culture.

When it comes to industrial development, Zhou Chunmi pointed out that Pingtung is not only a major agricultural county, but has also actively promoted industrial transformation and upgrading in recent years. With the entry of TSMC's supply chain, the gradual formation of the Pingtung Science Park, and Taiwan's first national rocket launch site in Jiupeng Village, Manzhou Township, the county government team will continue to actively strive for more industries to enter. It is expected that in the future, technology, space industry and traditional industries will be interconnected to create more employment opportunities and economic momentum for Pingtung.

Shi Chongli said that the AIT Kaohsiung Branch attaches great importance to the partnership with counties and cities in southern Taiwan, and is optimistic about Pingtung's development potential in fields such as space technology and electronic waste recycling. He loves Taiwanese traditional culture very much and is even more interested in the king ship culture of Pingtung Donggang. He will continue to keep in touch with the county team in the future to deepen exchanges between the two parties.
