Satisfaction with TMO prices from grape producers from Alaşehir

Grape producers in Manisa's Alaşehir district welcomed the Soil Products Office (TMO)'s announcement of raisin purchase prices.

TMO determined the purchase price per kilogram of number 10 raisins as 100 lira, number 9 raisins as 95 liras, number 8 raisins as 90 liras, and number 7 raisins as 85 liras.

Mehmet Yücel, one of the producers, said, "TMO came to our rescue when the prices of raisins fell to the 50-60 TL band. The high yields this year made us think. Currently, grapes in the market were in the 60 lira band. Our state did not leave us alone. Currently, TMO is purchasing grapes between 80-100 TL. Our request from TMO is to buy all our products and not let us down." he said.

Producer Bekir Şahal said, "Currently, the merchant buys raisins for around 50-60 lira. But since TMO has stepped in, we expect the market to rise. We, as farmers, are very aggrieved. We expect TMO to buy all the raisins. We expect help from our state in this regard." he said.

Producers also stated that they expect support for discarded grapes, popularly known as 'fruit grapes'.

It was stated that TMO is planning to purchase raisins in sacks in the Baklacı District of Alaşehir and bulk raisins in its warehouses in the Tepeköy District.

While the purchases are expected to start on Tuesday, it was reported that the producers will make transactions through the appointment system. It was stated that the appointment system was opened as of 10:00 today.
