Alfa-PVP again in Sweden – life-threatening drug that can trigger psychosis

Those who take alpha-PVP are at risk of becoming aggressive, irrational and psychotic.

After the drug - which on the street is also called "flakka" - has increased like an avalanche in Finland in recent years, it has now returned to Sweden. It is particularly widespread in Norrköping and Uppsala, and the surrounding area. Which SVT Nyheter Uppsala has previously reported on.

- It's a real crap drug. You can imagine that your friend is going to kill you and try to catch up, or that you flee in panic out of a window and it ends in tragedy, Tobias Eriksson, chief medical officer of addiction medicine, previously told SVT.

Come in during the summer

During the summer, a batch of alpha PVP arrived in Uppsala. One of those who tested was Peter Johansson.

- Some have taken such high doses that they become "fucked up", he says.

Peter Johansson has used amphetamines for almost 40 years, and has bounced between temporary addresses, the street and prison for, among other things, theft crimes.

- Amphetamine today is not as pure as before, so maybe you choose alpha-PVP to get the same effect as before, he says.

- But fuck it, it's life-threatening.
