Alvaro Negredo talked about the 2017-2018 season he played in Beşiktaş

Former Beşiktaş football player Alvaro Negredo made statements about the 2017-2018 season he spent in the black-white team and his days in Türkiye.

41-year-old Negredo, who ended his career last season and is currently an assistant coach in Sevilla B Team, made important statements about his time playing football in Beşiktaş in his interview with Flashscore.

"I ENJOYED FOOTBALL AT BEŞİKTAŞ"

While Negredo stated that the Beşiktaş squad in the 2017-2018 season was of very high quality, he said that the period he spent in the black and white team was one of the special experiences in his career.

"That team was great. We had Adriano, Gary Medel, with whom I played in Sevilla, Cenk Tosun, a forward in the Turkish National Team, and many other very good players. It was one of the places I enjoyed football the most, both as a player and as a fan. The level of passion around the team was incredible," Negredo said.

Stating that the year he spent in Istanbul was special for him, Negredo also approached positively about the possibility of becoming the head coach of Beşiktaş in the future.

Negredo said, "You feel its culture, atmosphere and passion. It is a place that makes people feel very intense emotions. If someone told me that I could coach a team like Beşiktaş in the future, I would go there with my eyes closed."

Speaking highly of Beşiktaş fans, the Spanish football player said that the passion in the stands impressed him.

"They live for the team. They generate a lot of emotions and make you feel both the good and the bad. They can be quite radical, but I think that's one of the things that makes it such a special experience. The passion of the Turks for football is great," Negredo said.

"THE NOISIEST STADIUM IS BEŞİKTAŞ STADIUM"

Negredo said that Beşiktaş Stadium was the loudest stadium he played in his career.

"Yes, without a doubt. I remember that first match. From the moment we won the ball, the whole stadium was excited. I think my son became a bit of a hooligan because he loved football so much. I have a video of him hitting the fences, jumping and shouting. He was only about a year old. I had an incredible time there. It's a shame we didn't win the league that season because we were so close, but the experience was amazing," said Negredo.

"QUARESMA AND I SOMETIMES WE WERE ANGRY AT EACH OTHER"

One of the most striking parts of Negredo's statements was his words about his former teammate Ricardo Quaresma.

Emphasizing the talents of the Portuguese star, Negredo stated that they sometimes had disagreements on the field due to his offensive playing style, but the relationship between them was good.

Negredo said: "He was an extraordinary player. He had so much skill and ability that it was sometimes difficult for a striker to adapt to him. You had to adapt your movements accordingly. He was one of the most talented players I shared the dressing room with. He also had a lot of character and trained very hard. We became friends. Sometimes during matches we would get angry at each other for a particular pass or decision, but that is part of football. In the dressing room or in the middle of the match, there are so many people and emotions around you. But I have a very good relationship with him and "I have very good memories of my time in Türkiye," he said.
