Eight people arrested for the attack on a goldsmith's company in the Arezzo area

Eight arrested by the police in Arezzo after the failed robbery last night at the Fratelli Chini goldsmith company in Ponticino. They are all of Romanian origin.

To hinder the intervention of the police, the alleged perpetrators of the attack would have blocked Via Nazionale with a felled tree, set fire to two vehicles stolen shortly before from a nearby company and set fire to some wooden platforms. A third vehicle, stolen from a technical gas company, was used to break down the gate of the goldsmith company.

The intervention of the carabinieri of the Arezzo and San Giovanni Valdarno companies, with the support of the traffic police and a helicopter from the 4th Elinucleo of Pisa, made it possible to trace the eight suspects at the exit of the Valdarno motorway toll booth. Some of the tools used for the attempted assault would have been found with them.

The Arezzo prosecutor's office has launched further investigations to verify any connections with other episodes against companies in the Arezzo gold district.
