Minicar gang in Rome, those responsible for the attacks identified: they are two minors

The two boys who, while on board a minicar, were responsible for the attacks on some passers-by in the Monteverde district of Rome on 4 and 5 October have been identified and reported. They are a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old who live in the area.

The two, identified also thanks to the analysis of the footage from the neighborhood surveillance cameras, admitted their responsibilities. The vehicle was traced by the police during a check in Testaccio and was seized. Among the passers-by attacked while walking, cycling or scootering, the actor Davide Iacopini, still in serious condition.

The 17-year-old is the son of a policeman.

The two minors were also identified thanks to the testimony of a mechanic who reported having installed some LEDs, a red light on the license plate, and stickers on a minicar, including one with a snake, which corresponded to the characteristics of the wanted car.

One of the two, identified after investigations by the Carabinieri and the local police, coordinated by the deputy prosecutor Giuseppe Cascini and the prosecutor Ambrogio Cassiani, celebrated his birthday between 4 and 5 October, one of the nights of the attacks. The 17-year-old driving the minicar is the son of a policeman.

An application was found on the mobile phone of one of the minors that monitored the movements of those that parents of minors download to monitor their children.
