Lavrov on the production of Patriots in Poland: it is Europe's war against Russia

Sergei Lavrov talked to journalists during the Valdai International Discussion Club.

Referring to possible plans to produce Patriots in Poland and the "degree of European involvement" in the conflict in Ukraine, Lavrov said:

When it comes to this, we have a military doctrine that the president (Vladimir Putin - editor's note) has quoted more than once. I appeal for a thorough analysis of the relevant chapter of this key document, said the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

His words were quoted by the Interfax agency.

Sergei Lavrov declared that European countries were waging war against Russia. If you admit that we are being attacked by your weapons and we knock those weapons down, call it whatever you want. However, I have no doubt that this is a war that Europe is waging against us, he said.

Production of Patriots in Poland - what does it mean?

At the NATO summit in July in Ankara, Poland signed an agreement with the USA, the Netherlands, Germany and Sweden regarding the servicing of PAC-3 missiles for the Patriot launcher in Europe. Negotiations are underway to locate the service center in Poland.

Last week, the deputy head of the Ministry of National Defense, Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka, stated that talks on this matter were already in their final phase. She also expressed hope that a positive decision to locate the service center in Poland would be the first step towards possible co-production of Patriot missiles.
