Suspicious fire in Aydın: The woman whose husband was found dead was arrested

The fire occurred last August 16 at night in the apartment building on 1067 Street in İstiklal District of Efeler district. According to the information obtained, citizens who saw flames rising from an apartment reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon notice, fire brigade, health and police teams were dispatched to the area.

Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department teams arrived at the scene in a short time and intervened in the flames, while police teams took security measures in the surrounding area. The teams responding to the fire found D.Ç., who was in the house. He took the woman named out injured. After the first intervention of the medical teams, the woman was taken to the hospital by ambulance and received treatment.

HER HUSBAND'S LIFELY BODY WAS FOUND

During the work carried out by the fire crews at the house, the lifeless body of D.Ç.'s wife, Mazlum Çiçek, was found. The body of Çiçek, who lost his life in the fire, was taken to the morgue for necessary procedures after the crime scene investigation.

ALLEGED SCREAMING BEFORE THE FIRE

According to some eyewitnesses, it was claimed that a woman's scream was heard from the house shortly before the fire, and then flames rose from the apartment. While investigations were being carried out to determine the cause of the fire, firefighters went to the scene upon notice and found a bag left in the shoe rack in front of the house. Firefighters who came prepared to break the steel door noticed the keys hanging out from the end of the bag. The teams entered the house using the key and rescued the injured D.Ç.

A DETENTION ORDER WAS MADE

Following the incident, police teams launched an investigation because a bag and suitcase were found in front of the house, almost ready to escape. The teams focused on suspicion of murder after the kitchen door of the house where Mazlum Çiçek was found dead was locked at the time of the incident and the key was found in the bag. It was also determined that the woman put money and jewelry in her bag. While the investigation into the incident continues by the Aydın Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, D.Ç., whose treatment continues in Izmir. A detention warrant was issued for him on August 25 on suspicion of murder. D.C., who was taken into custody after the completion of his treatment, was referred to Aydın Courthouse in the morning today. D.Ç., who was taken to court after his statement to the prosecutor's office, was arrested on suspicion of murder.

"I DID NOTHING"

D.C., who was taken out of the courthouse in a wheelchair, claimed that he was innocent, saying "I didn't do anything." The judicial process regarding the incident continues.
