U.S. President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping held a summit at the White House on the 25th. The two did not mention Taiwan in public. When "Deutsche Welle" (DW) reported Taiwan's reaction, it quoted DPP Taipei mayoral candidate Puma Shen as saying that Taiwan should first confirm what weapons systems it needs, and relevant discussions should be held in Taiwan's Legislative Yuan.

"Deutsche Welle" pointed out that during the public events of the Trump-Xi meeting, neither side talked about Taiwan, but the closed-door conversation reported by China's official media "Xinhua News Agency" mentioned Taiwan. "Deutsche Welle" also reported that KMT Chairman Cheng Lai-wen advocated that the Taiwan government should take the initiative to engage in dialogue with Beijing to reduce the risk of conflict through communication and building mutual trust; Chinese President Xi Jinping talked about Taiwan in a closed-door conversation. "Xinhua News Agency" quoted him as saying that China firmly safeguards national unity and territorial integrity.
