The Egyptian Public Prosecutor's Office refers the accused of killing his daughter and three of his divorced relatives to the criminal trial

On Wednesday, the Egyptian Public Prosecution issued a statement regarding a man’s murder of his daughter and three relatives of his divorced woman in May 15 City in Cairo, and announced his transfer to criminal trial on charges of premeditated murder, in a crime whose news has spread widely in Egypt in recent days.

The prosecution said in its statement that the accused faces “accusations of premeditatedly killing his daughter and three of his divorced relatives, attempting to kill his son, and possessing firearms, white weapons, and ammunition without a license.”

The incident occurred in May 15 City, on Friday, after the accused opened fire on the victims inside an apartment, and the residents were able to arrest him and hand him over to the police, according to the official version.

The Public Prosecution’s statement explained that the accused “confessed to committing the crime as a result of family disputes between him and his ex-wife. He set a date to meet the victims at one of them’s home under the pretext of settling those disputes. He went to the scene of the incident carrying a firearm and a quantity of ammunition, then fired bullets at them, intending to kill them.”
