Putin supported the United Russia initiative to distribute posts in the State Duma according to the quality of deputies

Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the initiative of the United Russia party to distribute posts in State Duma committees based on the personal and business qualities of deputies, and not party affiliation.

Putin on Monday met with the leadership of political parties that entered the State Duma based on the election results.

“It was said that United Russia generally supported the idea of ​​distributing relevant posts in the State Duma, regardless of the number of members of their factions, but depending on the business and personal qualities of applicants for a particular position. I hope that this will be the case in the next composition of the State Duma,” the head of state said.

In turn, the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov also recalled the importance of the tradition of assigning committees in the State Duma according to the personal qualities of deputies. He emphasized that this practice needs to be extended to the regions.

“We must certainly extend this not only in the State Duma, but also put it into practice at the level of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation,” the president responded.

Putin noted that he would give appropriate instructions to his administration, and also asked to support the work of United Russia Chairman Dmitry Medvedev in this direction.
