Dzhabarov responded to Zelensky’s statement about compromises on grain and energy

Ukraine wants to discuss only issues that interest it, deliberately not entering into dialogue on topics that concern Russia. This is how Vladimir Dzhabarov, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, responded to the statement of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in an interview with Gazeta.Ru.

Earlier, Zelensky said that Ukraine is ready to seek compromises in the areas of energy and food supplies as part of the settlement of the conflict with Russia. The Ukrainian politician noted that the issue of grain supplies is especially important not only for Ukraine and Russia, but also for many countries in Asia and Africa, including India, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

“Why are we talking about grain and energy? Because after we essentially blocked Odessa, Kyiv lost its sea channels for supplying its grain abroad. And this is very important for him, because deliveries by any other mode of transport, by rail, will be very expensive,” Dzhabarov explained.

According to the senator, Kyiv continues to take an irreconcilable position on issues that are key to Moscow, while seeking concessions that are important for the Ukrainian side. Zelensky, as Dzhabarov noted, has not yet begun to talk about the withdrawal of troops from new regions of Russia.
