Bahia and Palmeiras draw 1-1 in the quarter-finals of the Brasileirão Feminino

Everything is the same in the confrontation between Bahia and Palmeiras in the quarter-finals of Series A1 (first division) of the Brazilian Women's Football Championship. On Monday night (31), Mulheres de Aço and Palestrinas drew 1-1 at Casa de Apostas Arena Fonte Nova, in Salvador. TV Brasil broadcast the duel live.

The match pitted teams that finished the first phase separated by seven points. Verdão, with 36 points, was in third place, while the Tricolores, with 29, were in sixth place. In the previous game between the teams, in the ninth round, which was shown by the Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC) broadcaster, the score was blank, also in Fonte Nova.

Palmeiras opened the scoring. In the 28th minute, full-back Raíssa Bahia - acting as a striker - carried the ball through the middle and activated midfielder Brena. The midfielder, from the edge of the area, shot into the left corner of goalkeeper Yanne, who stretched out to defend, without success.

Bahia equalized with a lethal counterattack in the 44th minute. After a great save by Yanne from Raíssa Bahia in the small area, after a low cross from full-back Ana Guzmán on the right, midfielder Raquel came out at speed and launched Wendy Carballo on the left.

The Uruguayan striker invaded the area, escaped Giovanna Campiolo and hit. The ball deflected off defender Pati Maldaner and went out of goalkeeper Kate Tapia's reach.

The balance was maintained in the second stage. The Palestrinas had the opportunity to return to the lead in the 14th minute, with a penalty committed by full-back Dan Nunes in Tainá Maranhão. Also forward Bia Zaneratto went for the penalty and hit the low right corner, but stopped after a great save from Yanne.

The tricolor goalkeeper was crucial on other occasions to avoid the setback at home. At 29, Tainá Maranhão received the ball just before the penalty mark and rolled to the left for striker Gláucia to cross the ball and stop at Yanne. Two minutes later, the number 12 saved a shot from Tainá Maranhão, inside the area, in the aftermath of a dispute between Bia Zaneratto and midfielder Ángela Gómez.
