The Ministry's work on leasing uncultivated agricultural lands continues.

The aim of the application is to bring uncultivated agricultural lands back into agricultural production and to evaluate the production potential of these lands.

It is aimed to contribute to strengthening food supply security by registering the lands brought into production through rental to the Farmer Registration System (ÇKS) and evaluating them within the scope of agricultural production planning.

In this context, the announcement process for the lands evaluated within the scope of the process that started on September 1 continues.

1- For how many consecutive years are agricultural lands that have not been cultivated considered within the scope of leasing?

Within the scope of the Soil Conservation and Land Use Law No. 5403 and the Regulation on Leasing of Uncultivated Agricultural Lands for Agricultural Purposes, agricultural lands that have not been cultivated for two consecutive years for different reasons are rented on a seasonal basis by the Ministry to be used in agricultural production, with the rental fees paid to their owners.

2- How does the identification and announcement process of uncultivated agricultural lands proceed?

Identification studies for uncultivated agricultural lands have been completed by the Land Determination Commissions established at the provincial and district levels for the 2026 production year. The announcement process for the lands evaluated within the scope of leasing started on September 1.

3- Which institution will carry out the leasing of the lands to be finalized?

After the completion of the announcement process and the approval of the local authority, the leasing of uncultivated agricultural lands, which will be finalized, will be carried out by the Provincial Directorates of Agriculture and Forestry, in line with future leasing requests.

4- How is the rental fee determined?

The rental fee will not be lower than the current market value determined by the relevant commission. In order to be used as a precedent in determining the current rental value of agricultural lands, at least three leased agricultural lands with similar characteristics and located in the same settlement as the agricultural land to be rented will be determined.

5- How can those who want to rent land apply?

Those who want to rent the announced agricultural lands will be able to apply to the relevant provincial directorate within the announcement period by completely filling out the rental request form. Lease applications can also be made through the Agricultural Land Valuation and Acquisition Information System. The rent will be paid to the land owner.
