Crop production exceeded 140 million tons

Stating that 2026 will be productive in terms of agricultural production, Yumaklı said that climatic conditions also contribute positively to production.

Yumaklı said, "Thankfully, 2026 has been a very good year in agricultural production. The climate conditions also helped us, thank God, and with the strong infrastructure of the sector, our crop production expectation this year has exceeded 140 million tons." he said.

Emphasizing that this figure is the highest crop production level in the history of the Republic, Yumaklı said, "This figure is the highest figure we have reached throughout the history of the Republic; I would like to underline this." he said.

Stating that farmers have started preparations for the new production season, Yumaklı wished that the new season would be fruitful.

Stating that Türkiye's agricultural product has reached 83.2 billion dollars by the end of 2025, Yumaklı said that Türkiye, which ranked 12th in the world in agricultural income 24 years ago, has risen to 7th place today.

Yumaklı thanked producers, farmers, industrialists and other stakeholders of the sector for their contributions to this success.

Yumaklı also gave information about the financing agreement signed with the World Bank.

Explaining that a total of 5.3 billion dollars of financing will be provided for 10 years within the scope of the Transformation Project of the Turkish Agricultural-Food Sector for Employment and Rural Welfare, Yumaklı said that the project will facilitate access to finance for entrepreneurs who want to invest in the agriculture and food sector.

Stating that the financial support will be used for facility, construction and machinery-equipment investments in the field of agriculture and food, Yumaklı stated that they aim to transform production into value-added products.

Yumaklı said, "This project will continue for 10 years and includes a figure of 5.3 billion dollars. Hopefully, we want to make the call for the first 750 million dollars approved by the World Bank before the end of this year." he said.

Stating that the application conditions and details of the project will be announced by the Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution (TKDK), Yumaklı said that the institution will serve as the executive of the project.

Stating that the importance of agricultural diplomacy in Türkiye's international relations has increased, Yumaklı said that contacts in the field of agriculture with China, Germany and Russia have been strengthened in the last 3 weeks.

Yumaklı stated that these contacts were transformed into results in line with Türkiye's interests through agreements and understandings.

Stating that they are trying to make food supply security more resilient against global developments, Yumaklı noted that efforts are being carried out to ensure that Turkish agricultural products take a greater place in different markets.

Yumaklı said, "I would like to say that we now highlight agricultural diplomacy as one of the most important elements of a strengthening understanding of diplomacy in our country's region and in the world." he said.
