Bayraktar TB3 Gained Success in Anti-Submarine Warfare with Sonoboy Launch from TCG Anadolu

Bayraktar TB3, which took off from TCG Anadolu, proved its anti-submarine warfare capability by making a successful sonobore shot in the Denizkurdu Exercise.

Bayraktar TB3 SİHA, which took off from TCG Anatolia and participated in Exercise Denizkurdu-I/2026, left behind an important turning point in anti-submarine warfare. While the National SİHA successfully completed 2 sonoboya shots with Baykar SAS POD, developed with domestic resources, it carried out a joint operation with the maritime patrol aircraft in the region and instantly processed the underwater data.

Show of Strength in Exercise Denizkurdu-I/2026

Exercise Denizkurdu-I/2026, which was carried out simultaneously in four seas, namely the Black Sea, Marmara, Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean between 20-25 September 2026, brings together all the main elements of the Turkish Armed Forces. In the exercise where the Naval, Land, Air and Coast Guard Commands worked in coordination, Bayraktar TB3, which took off from the flight deck of TCG Anadolu, attracted attention with its new mission capability.

Full Compatibility with Maritime Patrol Aircraft and Instant Data Processing

Bayraktar TB3 conducted anti-submarine warfare in direct communication with the maritime patrol aircraft operating in the operation area. The national aircraft, which released 2 sonoboys to the planned coordinates via the Baykar SAS POD (Sonoboy Deployment System) positioned under the wing during the flight, also demonstrated a critical performance in the data integration phase of the process.

Underwater Threats Are Tracked from the Air

The most important detail of the test was that Bayraktar TB3 analyzed not only the sonoboys left by itself, but also the sonoboys left by the maritime patrol plane with its own processing unit. While the acquired acoustic and underwater data were transferred to the exercise center with an instant display, it was concretely confirmed how active a role unmanned platforms can take in submarine detection and tracking operations.
