Su Qiaohui, the Democratic Progressive Party's New Taipei City mayoral candidate and legislator, has established the "New Taipei Mountain Friends Support Association". Former president and campaign chairwoman Tsai Ing-wen showed up to support her. Su Qiaohui promised that when she serves as mayor in the future, she will shorten transportation connections and upgrade hardware facilities in all aspects. Shi aims to build the "New Taipei University Longitudinal Walking" brand and create a climbing environment that is friendly to all ages, ethnic groups, and even "furry kids". She hopes that through the brand image, mountain forest resources will become a new highlight of urban development and the country's mountain forest policy will be further advanced.

Su Qiaohui said that rural areas in New Taipei have never been rural areas, but treasures. There are not only eight coastal towns, but also five forest towns. They are fully qualified to attract more international hikers. She will let more people know the cultural landscape of mountain and forest towns from four aspects. In the future, she will classify the mountain trails in New Taipei so that people can choose the route and equipment that suits them and get close to the mountains with peace of mind. For example, the existing "Youth Mountain and Sea Trail" in New Taipei is a one-day intermediate trail. She hopes to add more introductory trails that are friendly to the people, such as the Bitoujiao Trail on the north coast and the northeast corner, the Lion's Head Trail and the Fuguijiao Lighthouse Trail. The intermediate trails will include the Hapen Crossing Trail and the Tonghou Crossing Trail from Wulai to Yilan.

Second, she will shorten the transportation transfer time for public mountaineering by increasing the frequency of shuttle buses. She took Xindian Yinhe Cave as an example. Now, if mountaineers want to go to Yinhe Cave, they must take the MRT, transfer to a bus, and then walk for 30 minutes. The Wuliaojian Trail in the Three Gorges requires two sections of public transportation after arriving at the MRT station. It can only be reached by car, so for popular hiking trails, she will plan a complete transportation connection road network so that hikers can reach the trailhead through "MRT or Taiwan Railway, plus a section of bus", and increase the number of buses during peak hours. If it is a longitudinal route of "A in and B out", she will do her best to open up terminal connections.

Su Qiaohui said that hardware equipment should also be better, from explanatory boards, multi-language friendly indicators, and even water dispensers, toilets, and rest stops should be installed every few kilometers so that people can pace appropriately.

She pointed out that in the future, she will allow people who visit New Taipei Mountain Climbing to visit the surrounding old street business districts after climbing the mountain. She will also organize different themed activities every season so that mountain friends can go directly to the old streets to eat delicious food and buy souvenirs after hiking down the mountain. She will build a "Mountain Forest Education Center" in Wulai to combine indigenous culture, ecological conservation and mountaineering safety to promote outdoor search and rescue skills and environmental education.
