Restraining order against Berhan Şimşek

Özlem Şanver, who has been living together with CHP Deputy Chairman Berhan Şimşek for 10 years, applied to the court in April 2026, claiming that she was subjected to physical and psychological violence.

2 MONTHS SUSPENSION

Evaluating the application, Istanbul Anatolian 1st Family Court decided to impose a restraining order and protective measure against Berhan Şimşek for 2 months within the scope of Law No. 6284. It was learned that the decision in question was later extended for another 2 months.

It was stated that Şanver's past statements included allegations that Şimşek used physical violence, insulted and threatened him.

In the security camera footage of the incident, some moments of the tension between the parties can be seen. It was learned that the investigation into the images is continuing.
