BIST 100 index started the day with a decline

BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul, which followed a sales-oriented trend yesterday, finished the day at 13,122.58 points, losing 5.54 percent of its value. The index started the new day with a decline.

BIST 100 DROPPED BELOW 13 THOUSAND POINTS

BIST 100 index dropped to 12,948.83 points at the opening, with a decrease of 173.74 points and 1.32 percent compared to the previous closing.

While the banking index gained 0.34 percent, the holding index lost 2.96 percent.

SECTORS WITH THE MOST PROFIT AND LOSES

Among the sector indices, the highest gain was transportation with 0.55 percent. The biggest decrease was financial leasing factoring with 9.50 percent.

EYES ON GLOBAL MARKETS

The interest rate decision of the US Federal Reserve (Fed) continues to be decisive on the direction of global markets. The selling pressure seen yesterday in the New York stock exchange following the bank's interest rate increase has been replaced by a more optimistic outlook, especially in the futures markets.

INTENSIVE DATA AGENDA IN MARKETS

Analysts stated that domestic housing sales, short-term external debt statistics, the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) Monetary Policy Committee (PPK) meeting summary and weekly money and bank statistics will be followed today.

It was noted that abroad, an intense data agenda will be followed, especially inflation in the Eurozone and the interest rate decision of the Bank of England (BoE).

Technically, 12,800 and 12,700 points are support and 13,100 and 13,200 points are resistance in the BIST 100 index.
